Vol 4: Moaning

Let me be the first to say: "Whoops." It's funny whenever I make a new schedule I can barely follow it. I used all of Monday night to work on my COM Project, so no new comics went up. All previous Friday's I've used for sleep instead of the Halloween special (though in my free time I've done some of the easier sprites and written a majority of it), then I had to go to work. And now, this Wednesday, I missed the update. Honestly, I blame this. I was so excited, I had to play Melee all day, and by the time I found some time, I had friend's over to play it as well, and then I desperately needed some sleep. Oh well, I woke up early to do the most of this, and then I finished it after I did my STATs test. Next week should be good if I actual ignore anything exciting and work on it that day. Hopefully I won't have homework that day. I'll work some of it on Monday to be sure. Anyway, I'll find some spare time to throw up some back comics. Till then, toodles.

Vol 4: INTENSE

Ironically, after I had finished principle spriting, my coffin showed up. Yay! Now just a month and I'll have a working bawks again. I also like to point out I started making Sean hallucinate before I knew he regularly smoked. I'm psychic.

I'm starting to get sick of the backroom, since I've been there for like 10 comics now or so, and I think I've done most of the jokes I wanted to do, so next Wednesday I'll probably make starting plans for the next arc. Oh, right, I didn't tell you guys. Well, here's a copy from neotaku:

So yeah, job, school, other job, very little sleep and quite physically sore. Other than that, just ████ing dandy! But it takes its physical tole on me, and I'm always tired now, and all my time is spent either on school, work, or sleep, and sometimes video games. But I still want to do the comic, and I eventually want to finish my flash projects. Hell, I still haven't even gotten back to fixing campout's sprite. Plus, the old archive hasn't been added to in monthes. So I'm going to do something about it.

Project: Link to the Past, Present, and Future.
Monday: I'm going to post a fistful of backdated comics up to the archive, and when I eventually get to the second season, I'm going to replace a lot of the filler (there's a lot of it.) So once that gets caught up/comics get replaced, Monday will be used to make new comics once again.

Wednesday: Actual comic time, yay!!!!

Friday: The aforemention "Future" part of the project, would be the Flash. Instead of comics, I will put an hour or two into making a dent into flash production, since my original self-set deadline for the first episode, October 10th, will never make it in time. So, this month I'm going to work on a Halloween special I really want to do, but since that's going to be with Sprites, I could probably knock it out in a weekend or two if I had the time.
I should have enough time to do all this stuff on their days, since I'd normally use my time for Halo3, but I'm Xboxless for the time being. Hooray? Anywho, off to put up some comics! Tra-la

So yeah, I'll probably put up a few more backdated comics tonight, and that omake that I said I was going to put up. Anywho, toodles.

Vol 4: Extraction Point 2/Couldn't Finish

There you go, end of that 2 parter and a jab at Xbox360's dying on Halo 3's release... which is exactly what happened to mine. While I'm pissed, worse things could have happened. I towel tricked it so it should work until I get my coffin, though I haven't gotten to play it yet. My brother's friends started sending invites so I let him have it. :\

Oh well, I'll play it tonight instead of sleeping. Also, special Omake later if I can't get to the ecksbawks.

Omake: Do-it-Yourself!

Go-Go-Go!

That's right, do it yourself! I worked today, so I'm beat, and I hardly slept a wink! Actually, while both are true, I'm not cranky at all. I just don't feel like making a comic right now. I'll probably make one later tonight, or possibly not at all. Depends, but now, I'm going to rest.

Vol 4: Extraction Point 1

The end of today's comic makes me very oddly happy. I love the look of bewilderment upon James is face, though sometimes I make him seem a lot stupider than I should. Well, not really stupid, just not at home. But that's how I'd imagine him at his fun-loving best. Regardless, its pretty funny. I am pleased with it all, especially that my idea ran over my time slot, that means I can use the rest of it on Monday.

On a personal note, Target called me back finally and I should be going to orientation tomorrow. Woooooooo!

Vol 4: Talk Like a Pirate Day, Again!

If you want to see the whole comic, click here. I'll fix the problems with it later.
Comic is massively late due to Marvel vs Capcom 2. Besides that, lots of throwbacks. Enjoy!
[EDIT] Oddly enough, only a little section of the dialog got cut off. Neat. I suppose when I get home I'll fix this so it's 400x200 like the rest of the comics are. Glad I caught this now so when I finish the archives the first Talk Like a Pirate Day won't be cut off. Well, it probably will, but I can include a link in it so you can see the 3 words you're missing.
[EDIT EDIT] Okay, looks less like crap. I'm not going to crop it too fit 400x200, as I like Dave Anez, think its best to save my mistakes to learn from them at a later date. So, click the link to see the whole comic.

Vol 4: Rape is Immenent!

The more time I spend in the backroom the more I hate it. Those backgrounds my help to make it pretty, but I lose track of them sometimes and it can get a little annoying having to go back and fix every frame. But oh well.

You'll notice that suddenly the Dreamcast controllers start to look uniform. I got sick of having to draw them every time I wanted to use them. The wires are the only things that's really starting to annoy me about them. Also, Power Stone 2 is awesome.

Vol 4: 2 Minute Warning

This comic is exactly 2 minutes long.

I have no clue if walk-in freezers have a knob or not, I just like the idea of it with the setting for "Stupidly Cold" and "Cryonic."

Some throwbacks to Drew's love to boot, and the hinting that Brad and Drew are actually angry reincarnations of Dante and Randal, since I like to lift jokes from the Clerks cartoon like crazy.

Vol 4: Cheap Cheap

So technically this comic wouldn't normally be on Rob's birthday, but lets go on ahead and say that this is today's comic anyway (if you been keeping track, this is actually Monday's comic).

Marvel vs Capcom 2, is an awesome game, and Cable sucks. Cable has the ability to use a single button attack that reaches across the screen and can be easily spammed. Soul Calibur has a reputation for allowing you to spam attacks and be cheap, a la Rapheal. However, Raphy isn't in the DC SC, but I assume you can be a dick regardless.

Vol 4: Frostillicus

Well, I don't really know what to say about this comic. So I'm going to watch some animu and think about when I'm going to make up all the late comics.

OH! RIGHT! It's a rip from the episode of the Simpson's when Jasper froze himself in the Kwik-E-Mart freezer. "Lisa the Simpson." I had to look it up because I wanted to use the exact quote.

Jackass Daioh

Right-Click and Save As, please, because I somehow fucked up the preloader.

Though it's still not finished...

Onto more important things though. This took my way longer than I expected it and I really did it without any reason. I saw some neato movies of the Lucky Star and Haruhi dances done with Mega Man sprites, and I was inspired... Unfortunately, Flash fought against me the entire way.

First off, you'll immediately notice the fact that his is huge. That's because there's the actual video file for Azumanga in there. That's because I used it as reference. No, I didn't forget to take it out. If I took it out, the normal MP3 file I used would make the video and audio desynch for whatever reason... so, maybe I won't finish this ever, but I'm glad I did something like this anyway. Flash is so annoying when you can't just tween everything.

Anyway, this is still terribly incomplete. If I ever get the motivation, I might go back and finish it, but from now on out, if I open Flash, it's going to be for the Second Season Movies.

Vol 4: Refridgerator Women

O LOLOLOLOLOLO!

Yay suspense. Originally, the Dreamcast was going to be a Gamecube, but then I thought it would be funnier if a convience store's stockroom was so old and bizarre if they had a Dreamcast instead. I also get to make a joke about Kris's anus. Yay!

Also, due to Stats being so super easy, I have like an hour and half to doodle almost every other day, so be sure to enjoy lots of crap like this.

Labor Day Special

OH YEAH, LOOK AT THAT SHIT.

I get the feeling though that I'm not going to be able to tolerate my own comics without voice acting and background music and pretty backgrounds now... but whatever, if it so comes to that, I'll just rearrange my schedule to make Jackass Adventures pack MORE punch and come out at LONGER intervals.

Any way, slight throw back to the last comic I made on labor day, where there was no comic and I was just crushed by a longcat-like creature. Thank God I actually used that long cat sprite in one of my comics, or I'd never find it again. Also, thanks to the Spriter's Resource, for having the tiles for the SMW background and VG music for the bgm's.

Also... You totally get an internet if you guess who dubbed Megan's voice.

Vol 4: More Flagarant Use of Akward Pauses!

Sorry this took forever, again. I was having an arguement with some idiots over the internet.
Any way, here's a nice look at those Player Two dimensions, where the pallete swaps live... The idea of having a precisely parallel dimension amuses me, but that seems sorta boring.

Video Projects

I was particularly not in the mood to make comics today. So instead, you get a redone blog, fixed, yet incomplete archives, and some old movies me and my friends made. Enjoy.

Vol 4: Tactical Zombies

Monday's Comic, since technically it is Monday here. I'm going to be out tomorrow, so I finished this up and might as well post it now to get it out of the way.

I'm actually a little swamped right now. My room is a total mess, my emulation computer is still not set up/still missing loads of files, I have a copy of Bioshock that's be neglected right now, I start classes on Tuesday, I want to completely redo the blog's layout and set up some other fashions of comic viewing, there's the game that's not getting worked on, as well as a flash animation (a series of which, which will actually wrap up the second season/Vol. 3/The Jackass Strikes Back).

:| DAMN MY AMBITION.

Side Note: Cherry Cola is an awesome song.

Vol 4: Re-Education

This is probably the only comic I've ever made where everything I wanted to put into it didn't fit. First off, after Paul says "great justice," I remembered that Justice is a Guilty Gear character and I was going to put a statue of Justice and Paul, James, etc, worshiping her, but the sprite is too huge to fit in the frame, so I scratched it.

There was going to be more dialog too, but I scrapped it because it wasn't really important, nor that funny. There was going to be a little extra at the end, but I was up to 32 frames and decided I'd save it for next week.

Vol 4: Moving along

Bah. Excuse me, but this comic isn't funny. I've been working on it for like 5 hours, with constant interruptions, no idea where I was going to go with it.

Monday, August 20, 2007

Vol 4: Backshadow.

Bam!Comic! I'll probably explain some of this ONCE I ACTUALLY LEARN FLASH! so yeah, wait and see. Hee hee hee, I have so much stuff planned, and it's all probably going to FAAAAIL!

VIDEO GAME

This is what you get, a really really half-assed video game. Yeah, a couple of days and this is what I got done, a working demo of a shoot-em-up where you play our very own Andy (in an awesome space ship), shooting at flying Seans and spinning Krises. It just keeps going until you die. And you have one life.

Have fun!

Expect a comic today, I'm changing the schedule again.

Vol 4: Boarding Up

OH YEAH, A COMIC. The second time I made this particular comic thanks to Windows Update. Anyway, yeah, you know what's been going on, but whatever, this took like 2 hours I think, which is disgusting. And I'm hungry. But YEAH. COMIC.

Reference to Dawn of the Dead Remake's fast zombies, which was a huge discussion back when it was released. And there's the throw back to Santa's evil twin, which wasssssss in comiiiiiic, gosh, I don't know, but it was the one with the sunglasses joke. You know which one I'm talking about.

Also, lol, Guile's really flat-broom haircut.

Excuses

So, yeah, it's been over a week since a comic. You might be thinking "Hey Brad/Not Dave, you're not doing much but sitting around recovering, sure, you can get out a comic in the mean time." I wish I was recovering. Both my computer and my family's computer have taken shits on me, and are working like crap. I usually go to bleepingcomputer.com for my computer woes, and they usually have the answer. Well, their answer didn't fix my family's desktop, and my efforts did. AOL, I don't have your service anymore and you still give me ulcers! My laptop finally got a clean bill of health today, only to have an epic crash, which took ten minutes to restart and can't reboot in safe mode. :\ What the fuck.

So yeah, I've actually made two comics in the mean time, but they both died. The first one I made on Tuesday, and was mostly complete (last bit to sprite up, set all the frames timings) and my buddy showed up, so I let it be, walked away and played Smash Bros with him. WINDOWS UPDATE. God how I hate Windows update. It restarted my computer while I was away and killed the comic. Similiar story with today's comic. Was working on it, got a call from Esther and talked to her. Then, my computer took a major shit when I walked away and here we are now.

So now I'm jumping through hoops to make sure it'll run again. Maybe they'll be a comic this weekend...

DEADLINE MISSED

Yeah, so I spent all day trying to fix a computer and trying to get an emulation station going in place of my actual classic consoles. Neither of which actually worked. So, yeah, fuck the comic for today. They'll be no make up tomorrow either, because I get to go have surgery. Having my tonsils removed

Vol 4: Zombo.com

So, there was almost no comic at all today, but thanks to some kind over-heated man on the side of the road, it's here!

A storm on Sunday knocked out my phone line, and by extension my internet (DSL, finally got rid of dial-up). We called up AT&T and told them about it and they were like "LOL FIRST THING IN THE MORNING." This is the same AT&T that promised me DSL Q1 of 2003. Ofcourse, no one showed up despite my family's constant calling and complaining. I awoke this morning, and apparently AT&T called us, and said "Eh, maybe Wednesday." Imagine my joy. Regardless, family decided to go see a movie (Live Free and Die Hard, which was awesome, by the way), and on our way down the street, there is an AT&T truck. So, we pull over, mom goes out and talks to the guy, and he heads to our house as he finishes his current job. Woo hoo!

Anyway, I had some problem with this comic, as I wrote it last night when I still had no internet. Originally, Paul and James were just going to cage the Santa Zombie, but I didn't like how it looked, and it wasn't that funny. So I settled for pushing him over and running away instead . It looked okay, was pretty funny, and the ending wasn't as akward, and I get to save another joke for another time.

Also, Andy, I have no clue if you like Dead Rising or not, but I do.

Vol 4: Of Balloons and Alternate Girlfriends

Today's comic comes in kinda late. I just got Xbox Live so I spent most of last night playing that. After about my third match with the same people on F.E.A.R. I realized "Oh shit, I didn't make a comic." So I went upstairs and went to bed. I got up around noon today, had some breakfast, and started working on the comic. Then I watched an episode of Lucky Star, then my girlfriend called, then I finished that same episode of Lucky Star, and now, here's the comic!

There were quite a few technical problems in this comic, basically because I wanted to do a lot of stuff that I didn't have any sprites to go with, like Megan sitting or Esther shielding her head. Also, it's hard to convey emotions like sorrow with the pixel limit of the comic, but I try my best. However, I am very proud of all of Drew's sprites in this comic, as well as Sean busting in through the ceiling's effect.

Technical notes aside, there is a throw back to Sean always calling Drew Kyo and Drew calling Jose Steve-Dave. As for the very first part of the comic, you can consider that a "glomp"or an enthusiastic tackle/pounce, which is often used in the anime sub-culture of the internet and in real life by giggling fan-girls. A man once told me essentially that the main purpose of a glomp is to cannon ball your entire body at the target's chest in hopes of unalligning it's spine so it cannot run from you, and what I have seen, his hypothesis should be accepted as scientific fact.

Vol 4: Grave Desecration

Originally, I was going to cut back to Snap, I should calling him that, since I'm going by almost all the characters actual names, Brad's situation back at the Quick Stop, but I decided that Lerick and Jose were the way to go. During the time, it also let me come up with this little plot line while I was working on the comic. It actually reminded me off something that Drew wrote about a zombie movie, so I'm going to rip on what I remember of it for a little.

Vol 4: I used to do wacky things

YAY. AGAIN MAKING COMICS. So, finaly, here's the second comic in the third series. Regardless of how long it took, it was made. I always liked the idea of having no fourth wall, so I decided I'd like people toying the the normal elements of the comic, like the frame and bubbles. I think I've done stuff with the frame before, so here's some bubble play. Using the word bubble and a hot air balloon is probably the greatest escape plan in any comic. Evar.
